At Beit Al Liqa, we launched the first workshop of “Environmental Awareness Workshops: Bridging the Gap between Science and Policy,” supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation in collaboration with women of the sun and environmental experts.
The first workshop explored the Mediterranean Biodiversity Hotspot and Palestine’s rich biodiversity, with a focus on our remarkable flora, ecosystems, biogeography, and the vital role of biodiversity in human well-being.
The workshop brought together representatives from a range of institutions and sectors, including the Directorates of Health; Tourism and Antiquities; Social Development; Local Government; and National Guidance; the Tourism and Antiquities Police; Bethlehem Governorate; the Public Relations and Media Department of the Bethlehem Water and Sewage Authority; the Public Relations Network in Bethlehem; Al-Khader Municipality; the Higher Council for Youth and Sports; the Culture and Youth Directorate in Hebron Governorate; and the Friends of Beit Jala Governmental Hospital Committee.
Their participation reflects a shared commitment to strengthening environmental knowledge, promoting cooperation, supporting community participation, and contributing to the protection and sustainable management of Palestine’s biodiversity and natural heritage
في بيت اللقاء، أطلقنا الورشة الأولى ضمن سلسلة «ورشات التوعية البيئية: سد الفجوة بين العلم والسياسات»، بدعم من مؤسسة
هانس زايدل، وبالتعاون مع جمعية نساء الشمس وخبراء في المجال البيئي.
تناولت الورشة الأولى نقطة التنوع الحيوي الساخنة في منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط والتنوع الحيوي الغني في فلسطين، مع التركيز على ثراء النباتات والحيوانات، والنظم البيئية، والجغرافيا الحيوية، والدور الحيوي للتنوع الحيوي في رفاه الإنسان.
وشهدت الورشة مشاركة ممثلين عن عدد من المؤسسات والقطاعات، إلى جانب ممثلين عن مديريات الصحة، والسياحة والآثار، والتنمية الاجتماعية، والحكم المحلي، والتوجيه الوطني، وشرطة السياحة والآثار،
ومحافظة بيت لحم ومدير العلاقات العامة والإعلام سلطة المياه والمجاري بيت لحم وتجمع العلاقات العامة في بيت لحم وبلدية الخضر والمجلس الاعلى للشباب والرياضة مساء الخير ودائرة الثقافة والشباب في محافظة الخليل ولجنة أصدقاء مستشفى بيت جالا الحكومي
وتعكس مشاركتهم التزامًا مشتركًا بتعزيز المعرفة البيئية، وتشجيع التعاون، ودعم المشاركة المجتمعية، والمساهمة في حماية التنوع الحيوي والتراث الطبيعي في فلسطين وإدارتهما بصورة مستدامة.
