Sawsana Faqqua team had a productive day of hands-on activities in Battir — where our hands met the earth and our hearts connected with our ancestors.
Today was a journey back to our roots. We planted life into the soil of Battir — pistachio trees, grape vines, fig trees, sumac shrub, cactus and some beautiful plants such as bougainvillea vines, and jacaranda, where each plant carries a promise of life and resilience. Besides, we have picked olives side by side, feeling the rhythm of the land and the stories whispered through its trees throughout generations.
For a few beautiful hours, we lived as farmers — humble, grounded, and alive. Battir reminded us that nature is our mother where it doesn’t just give… it teaches.
كان يوم فريق سوسنة فقّوعة مليئًا بالنشاط والإنتاجية في بلدة بتّير حيث التقت أيدينا بالأرض، وتواصلت قلوبنا مع أرواح أجدادنا.
كان هذا اليوم رحلة عودة إلى الجذور، زرعنا فيها الحياة في تربة بتّير الطيبة — أشجار بطم وقيقب وكروم عنب، وتين، وسماق، وصبّار، إلى جانب نباتات جميلة مثل الجارانديا والجهنمية، حيث يحمل كل نبات منها وعدًا بالحياة والصمود.
كما قمنا بقطف الزيتون جنبًا إلى جنب، نُصغي لإيقاع الأرض، ونستشعر الحكايات التي تهمس بها أشجارها منذ أجيال.
لبضع ساعات جميلة، عشنا حياة الفلاحين — بتواضع، وثبات، ونبض حيّ.
ذكّرتنا بتّير أن الطبيعة هي أمّنا… فهًي لا تمنحنا فقط، بل تُعلّمنا.
